I call BAGGEDBIRDS.com the
"Air Suspension Resource for Thunderbirds" because to
my knowledge there is no other page like this. The sole purpose
of this page is the share how I and others bagged their birds.
I started a free geocities web page about 5 years ago because
of a class I was taking at Fresno State at the time. I had bagged
the back of the bird by then and was having trouble finding any
birds that were bagged in the front. Don't get me wrong, I'm not
the first bird bagged. But I couldn't find anyone willing to share
how they had done the front. This really inspired me to post as
much info as I could on the internet for others to see and maybe
copy.
Soon after that, Air Ride Technologies came out with the "Shockwave"
which solved the problem I was having with the twisting front
of the Thunderbird. Tony at Air Ride Technologies refered me to
a hot rod shop in Los Angeles that was willing to describe the
lower bracket design to me over the phone. I built me a pair of
those and used them for a few months.(see picture below) They
worked but there was room for improvement. I talked to some engineers
at my work about some designs. Their design is the one that I
currently use. I confirmed their design by talking with Brett
the owner of Kuts-R-Us who was using a similar design. Now I had
to build me pair. I took my time and make mock-ups out of cardboard
then started cutting the metal. I posted all the pics of the process
and I started getting e-mails about it.
I had that geocities page for about 1 year and thought it would
be cool to own a domain name. The geocities address was long to
write down and hard to remember. I knew it was time when I kept
getting Data Transfer shut downs due to traffic and picture size.
The most important thing was the pictures, if you can't see them
whats the point? . So something needed to change. I regsistered
for the BAGGEDBIRDS.com name and pay for the web space. So it
actually costs me to run the page but its fun and I would have
done it anyway. I think its cool that I can keep adding baggedbirds
to the page as it gets more popular. The page will be 1 year old
March 23, 2003. I hope all of you found the page informative and
helpfull in getting you bird bagged.
Thanks for stopping by!
